The Putnam County SPCA is seeking interested and concerned people who would like to be part of its "Animal Cruelty Watch". Similar to a "Neighborhood Watch" program, the "Animal Cruelty Watch" will be made up of citizens who do not tolerate animal cruelty in any form and who will report it to the Putnam County SPCA when it is observed.
The Putnam County SPCA is putting together a program where the animal cruelty laws will be presented. The attendees of this hour and a half seminar will be able to recognize the different forms of animal cruelty takes, be made aware of the correlation with child/elder abuse, domestic violence, gang violence, and know how to handle the situation when it is observed.
