Funeral Mass for Edwin Wintle Scheduled for Thursday

Calling hours for the Brewster resident will be Wednesday at the Beecher Funeral Home.

Edwin P. Wintle of Brewster, NY died July 28, 2012 at the age of 79.

Mr. Wintle was born March 28, 1933 in Bronx, NY, son of the late Edwin and Celia (Collins) Wintle. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes H.S. in the Bronx and married Virginia Duffy on Apr. 7, 1956, also of the Bronx. They moved to Brewster forty years ago.  Mr. Wintle was the V.P. of distribution and logistics for Lone Star Industries in Greenwich, CT, for twenty years before retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife Virginia of Brewster, NY, a son Edwin J. Wintle of New York City, two daughters, Eileen Ann Underwood of Danbury, CT, and Deirdre Bresha of New Fairfield, CT, a sister, Geraldine Hogan of Edison, NJ, and two grandchildren, Brittany and Justine Bresha.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday Aug. 2,, 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, in Brewster. Interment follows at Mountain View Cemetery in New Fairfield, CT. Calling hours will be at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Pulminary Fibrosis Foundation, 811 West Evergreen Ave., Suite 204, Chicago, IL, 60642.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
