Paul John Slivinsky, age 90, of Brewster, passed away on July 26, 2013 at home surrounded by his family.
Paul was born at home on March 16, 1923 in the Glenbrook section of Stamford, CT, to the late Mikail and Zochia (Kunitchia) Slivinsky. He graduated from Stamford High School where he excelled in sports going on to pitch semi- pro baseball. He served proudly for his country during WWII, in the US Army, stationed all over the US, and Europe. After the war he followed his dream and became a home building contractor.
On April 7, 1952 he married the love of his life, Wanda Lukaniec also of Stamford, who predeceased him in 2005. Paul and Wanda settled in North Salem, NY to raise their six children.
Paul is survived by his six loving children, Tanya of Sebastian, Fl, Paul Jr. (Terese), of Brewster, NY, Gregory of Brewster, NY, Stephen (Naura) of North Salem, NY, Peter (Celia) of Marietta, GA, and Paula of Ossining, NY. His sisters Olga Schlatter of Norwalk, CT, and Marjory (James) of Fallbrook, CA,. His cherished Grandchildren Nina and Lukas. Paul is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Peter of Aptos, CA.
A service to celebrate Paul Slivinsky's life will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, 7pm at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave, Brewster, NY. 10509 ( 845)- 279-3615,www.beecherfuneralhome.com.
Family may receive friends at the Beecher Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 30th, from 4pm to 8pm. Interment will be private. He will be greatly missed.
