Brewster Cops Log 166 Hours of Foot Patrol, 4 Arrests for January

Authorities received (52) 911 calls, which included reports of a missing child and suspicious persons, as well as the discovery of a pellet gun.

At last week's Village Board of Trustees regular meeting, officials accepted the Brewster Police Department's report for January. Officers:

  • Issued hundreds of tickets: 120 parking, 81 traffic violations, 17 Department of Transportation truck enforcement and two local ordinance.
  • Inspected 43 taxis.
  • Made four arrests: two suspended reigstration, one suspended license and one criminal impersonation.
  • Made 376 security visits: 151 to the sewer, 145 to the water tank and 80 to the well field.
  • Spent 166 hours on foot patrol: 50 on Main Street, 95 at the Brewster Train Station and 21 in residential areas.
  • Handled (52) 911 calls—for reports that ranged from criminal mischief to a domestic dispute to two cases of lost dogs—and 27 walk-in/pickup complaints.
