Cops Find Sleeping Teen at Train Station, File Disorderly Conduct Charge

The Brewster Police Department provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

An 18-year-old Southeast resident is facing a violation after an incident that occurred at the Brewster Train Station during the Tuesday morning commute.

Brewster Police Chief John Del Gardo said Officer Al Villani was on patrol at about 7:30 when he noticed two youths sleeping on benches outside The Dining Car, a restaurant at the station. They were surrounded by belongings, and their legs were stretched into the walkway, Del Gardo told Patch.

Villani reportedly asked both of the subjects what they were doing, and requested they move. One of them, an 18-year-old Southeast man, refused to comply, instead initiating a verbal dispute, according to Del Gardo.
