Man Burned to Death in Putnam Valley

The case is under investigation.

In what appears to be a tragic accident, a man burned to death after catching on fire on a residential Putnam Valley street Saturday afternoon, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks told Patch.

At approximately 1:40 p.m. on April 28 the victim, identified as Harold Wilson, was on fire outside of what police believe was his home at 105 Peekskill Hollow Road.

"As of right now it appears to be accidental," said investigator Robert Mollica, who is not on the case.

Wilson was pronounced dead at Hudson Valley Hospital.

The incident is under investigation and more details are expected Monday following the autopsy.
