Southeast Man Faces Drug Charge

State Police provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 21-year-old Southeast man was arrested on a drug charge in Dutchess County after police stopped him for not wearing a seatbelt, officials say.

Peter J. Ciullo is facing a misdemeanor charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Troopers observed Ciullo operating a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier in Dover Plains around 1 p.m. Sunday. They initiated a traffic stop when they saw he was not wearing a seatbelt, officials say.

During the interview, officials noticed the smell of burning marijuana, according to police. They came across Suboxone pills in a subsequent search. The drug is used to treat opiate addiction.
