Three Face DWI Charges After Stops in Mahopac, Southeast

The New York State Police provided the following information. It does not indicate any convictions.

Officials from the  and Stormville barracks recently arrested the following individuals:

  • Southeast resident Michael D. Roviello, 58, around 3 a.m. Sunday. Police stopped Roviello, who was operating a 2007 Cadillac Escalade, for speeding on Interstate 84 (I-84) westbound in Southeast, officials said. Troopers charged him with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and released him. He reportedly refused to submit to alcohol screening. The defendant is due in Southeast Justice Court May 3.
  • Mahopac resident Michael C. Schleicher, 45, around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Police stopped Schleicher, who was operating a 2000 Ford Taurus, near the intersection of Route 6N and Baldwin Place Road in Mahopac for speeding, according to officials. He is facing two infractions, as well as a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated. Information on his blood-alcohol level was unavailable Monday afternoon. Authorities released the defendant, pending a May 1 appearance in Carmel Justice Court.
  • Danbury, CT resident Edgar Y. Samaniego, 28, around 2 a.m. Saturday. Police stopped Samaniego, who was operating a 1998 Honda Civic, on I-84 westbound in Southeast for speeding. Troopers charged him with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and released the defendant after he posted $250 station bail. Authorities say his blood-alcohol content was 0.11. The legal limit is 0.08. Samaniego is due in Southeast Justice Court May 3.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
