Troopers Charge CT Man with DWI on Route 22

State Police provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 22-year-old Newtown, CT man is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in Southeast Friday morning, according to police.

Officials arrested Christopher P. Basso at about 1:40 a.m. on Route 22, near Milltown Road. In addition to the misdemeanor, troopers from the Southeast barracks charged Basso with two infractions: driving left of pavement markings and drinking alcohol in a vehicle on the highway.

Authorities held Basso. Additional details were unavailable. He will be due in Southeast Justice Court at a later date.
