Cops: Hit-and-Run Driver Was Drunk, Had Previous Conviction

Her blood-alcohol level was reportedly three times the legal limit, state police from the Southeast barracks said.

A 40-year-old Patterson woman is facing a felony charge of driving while intoxicated following a hit-and-run in Southeast, according to officials.

State troopers from the Southeast barracks arrested Christine A. Matici at about 6:30 p.m. Friday.  

"Matici was found to be intoxicated subsequent to a hit-and-run accident investigation conducted in the area of State Route 22 and Route 312," police said in a statement. "Matici was located a short time later after she ran off of the roadway on Route 312."

The defendant had a previous drunken driving conviction, and her blood-alcohol level was 0.24-percent, according to authorities.. The legal limit is 0.08-percent. Troopers charged her with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated.

Matici is due Tuesday in Southeast Justice Court.
