Troopers Look For Distracted Drivers on I-684

A distracted driver detail on Interstate 684 Sunday led to 20 tickets for violations that range from failing to move over to operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone to speeding.

The initiative took place in Westchester County. It lasted 10 hours.

"Ensuring highway safety for all users is a New York State Police mission priority," officials said in a statement.

State troopers are cracking down on crash-causing behavior—including driving while intoxicated, aggressive driving, and speeding—between now and Labor Day.
