A 23-year-old Newtown, CT woman is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 22 in Southeast.
State troopers observed a vehicle with an inoperable headlamp and stopped the driver at about 1:55 a.m. Tuesday. While speaking to the woman, police noticed an odor of alcoholic beverage, authorities said.
The woman's blood-alcohol level was 0.12 percent, according to officials. The legal limit is 0.08.
Police issued the defendant appearance tickets for July 23 in Southeast Justice Court.
