Village Arrests: 2 Face Traffic Misdemeanors

The Brewster Police Department provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

Patch sat down with Chief John DelGardo of the  this week to discuss officers' recent activity. Here are the details:

  • Officer John Croston arested a 38-year-old Bedford Hills man on Railroad Avenue in the Village around 11:20 p.m. Monday. DelGardo said that the license plate reader in Croston's patrol car signaled that the registration for the passing vehicle had been suspended. A traffic stop and further investigation showed the suspension to still be in effect. Croston charged the driver with a misdemeanor and released him pending a March 5 Village of Brewster Court appearance.
  • Officer Wayne Peiffer arrested a 37-year-old Carmel woman on Oak Street in the Village around 8 p.m. Feb. 24. According to police, the officer was heading in the opposite direction of the defendant when he noticed that the vehicle's inspection had expired. Peiffer initiated a traffic stop and discovered that the driver's license was suspended. He charged her with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. The woman was released pending a March 19 appearance in Village of Brewster Court.
