Putnam Family and Community Services to receive the Bronze Key Award

The National Council on Alcoholism & Other Drug Dependencies/Putnam (NCADD) will be honoring Putnam Family and Community Services (PFCS) at their annual fundraising luncheon on October 18, 2013 for their exemplary contributions to alcohol and drug prevention in Putnam County.  Putnam Family and Community Services will receive the NCADD Bronze Key, which is a national recognition award granted by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence organization to an individual or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the field of substance abuse prevention.

This will be the first time an organization will receive the bronze key honor in Putnam County.  Putnam Family and Community Services (PFCS) is the only private non-profit agency providing Mental Health and Chemical Dependency services in Putnam County, New York. Their staff include a highly trained team of psychiatrists, masters level clinicians, chemical dependency counselors, prevention educators, nurses, case managers, and family and peer advocates.

PFCS serves 1 in 12 Putnam residents, through more than 20 innovative programs.

“Since 1997, Putnam Family and Community Services contributions to our community have improved the quality of life in Putnam County. We are so pleased to be honoring an organization who contributes so much to substance abuse prevention in Putnam County” stated Kristin McConnell, Executive Director of the National Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependencies/Putnam.

The luncheon will take place on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 12:30pm at Arms Acres, 75 Seminary Hill Road, Carmel, NY, and feature a silent auction and an awards presentation. The Master of Ceremony will be Joseph A. DeMarzo, Deputy Commissioner of the Putnam County Department of Mental Health/Social Services/Youth Bureau.
