Putnam Weekend: Dog Wash, Museum Party, Wine and Food

There are tons of ways to keep busy around Brewster and Southeast this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Putnam County Wine and Food Fest

When: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 3) and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 4)

Where: Patterson Flea Market grounds, 3161 Route 22 in Patterson

Why go? This two-day event will bring together the "most renowned wine producers, beer garden, food, arts and crafts, flea market, fresh produce and local artists," organizers say. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. Learn more here.

Putnam Humane Society Dog Wash

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 3)

Where: Putnam Humane Society, 68 Old Route 6 in Carmel

Why go? Treat your furry friend to the works—a wash, dry and brush—while supporting the shelter. A bath is $15, while a trimming of the nails is $12. Microchipping will be available, too. If you don't have a dog, but would like to attend, consider doing so as a volunteer.

Southeast Museum's 50th Birthday Party

When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 4)

Where: Ryder Farm, 400 Starr Ridge Road in Southeast

Why go? The Southeast Museum which was established in 1963 as a non-profit educational institution. It boasts more than thousands of artifacts. This major milestone will be recognized with a barbecue, face-painting, farm tours, games, music and more. Admission is $35 per person ($5 for kids).
